Supporting Catholic Small Businesses in Gainesville
Find out more about seven small businesses run by Catholic Gators and St. Augustine parishioners!
As St. Valentine’s Day approaches, we thought it would be nice to share with you some of the businesses within our Catholic community here in Gainesville. From fun little trinkets to life-changing services, our very own friends and family are doing wonderful things, so we encourage you to support their businesses!
Here is a list of 7 small businesses for you to take into consideration.
1. Magnificat Art
First up is Magnificat Art by Catholic Gators’ very own Rachel Estanislao. Here is what Rachel shared with us about her business.
“In my Etsy Shop, I make birch wood coasters with woodburned designs. I mostly sell Catholic designs, but I also have other patterns and offer custom designing. My favorite part of having my shop is getting to connect in a small way with other Catholics across the country.”
Who are your products for?
“My business is great for anyone looking to give Catholic gifts or anyone in need of a new coaster! I also make custom monogrammed orders which make great wedding gifts.”
How can people contact you?
“You can find me at magnificatart.etsy.com and you can use the coupon code CG15OFF to get 15% off your order! If you have any questions, you can message me through Etsy or email me at rachel.magnificatart@gmail.com. If you live in Gainesville, you don’t have to pay for shipping! Just message me for details.”
2. Maria’s Piano and Voice Lessons
Another one of our Catholic Gators who has started a business is Maria Baroco. Here is a little about what she does:
“Music lessons are provided on piano and/or voice, tailored to fit the needs and goals of the student while building strong technique. Joy and encouragement are an important part of the journey as the individual explores and develops areas such as classical music, popular music, liturgical music or music theory.”
Who is your ideal customer?
“My ideal customers are people of all ages who are interested in music! I have experience teaching preschool through late adulthood.”
How can people contact you?
“Email me at mcbaroco@outlook.com. Lessons can be done online or in-person. Video tutorials may also be provided in various circumstances.”
3. Two Hearts FertilityCare Services
Moving on to one of our St. Augustine non-student parishioners, Chris Pampo, CFCP, has an incredible Natural Family Planning (NFP) educational service. RHC’s Ana Redington is currently working with her and cannot recommend her highly enough!
“As a certified fertility care practitioner of the Creighton Model FertilityCare System, I teach women/couples to chart the woman’s menstrual cycle by observing biological markers that are essential to a woman's health and fertility,” Chris Pampo said. “These biomarkers tell the couple when they are naturally fertile and infertile, allowing the couple to use the system either to achieve or to avoid pregnancy. These biomarkers also point to abnormalities in a woman’s health, allowing for diagnosis and treatment of gynecological disorders.”
Who is your business for?
“It’s for all women! From first menses to menopause, this system allows you to steward your own procreative and gynecological health. You will learn to understand your fertility, receive natural and holistic solutions for gynecological/reproductive health issues, and in marriage, participate in the regulation of birth in a way that is completely faithful to Church teaching as set forth by Pope Saint Paul VI in Humanae Vitae (HV III), recognizing that ALL children are a gift from God. My classes fulfill the NFP marriage preparation requirement for the Diocese of St. Augustine and for most other dioceses that require it.”

4. Easy Breezy Creations
Next up is Easy Breezy Creations with Brie Schentrup from St. Augustine Church!
“So, my business is a little unique because I actually run it with my mom! She creates festive wreaths, and I make crochet items. We started it back in 2018 as a way for us to hang out together and bond. While we usually just sell ready-to-ship items, we will sometimes take custom orders.”

I make my rosaries using gemstones and durable yet light nylon cord, creating beautiful pieces without sacrificing durability. Equally delightful and durable are my stickers that are water/dishwasher/microwave/life-proof! I started my business after learning how to make my husband and I a set of rosaries for our wedding.”

“S.Det Design is the name of my graphic design business. I usually contract with people who need things like graphics for social media, postcards, flyers, business cards, letterhead, etc. I’ve worked primarily with parishes and other Catholic organizations but also do invitations, programs and table place cards!”
